An Ordinary Place is a document of people, places and things encountered in and around Southwestern Vermont. Since it was first published in 2008 on the website socialdocumentary.net, it has undergone several revisions, with increased attention paid in this current excerpt to how different sequences alter the meaning of the photos involved. When the images are successful, it is typically because I’m aware of a gut response to what is in front of me. Trailer parks, classrooms, back roads and courthouses are some of the places where that sense is awakened.
